Thankful Thursday

Is it Thursday already!! I was sitting here watching the Duke game on the computer and realized it was Thursday and I haven't listed the things I'm thankful for this week. Here goes..

I'm Thankful For...
1. ..spring break! Chad is on his this week and it has been so nice having him home.

2. ..my computer that is allowing me to watch the Duke game!

3. .. Chad and the great father he is to our boys. This week he has taken the 2 big boys to Chuck E. Cheese (by himself), taken Cade fishing, and spent many hours just playing with them. I love that he wants to spend so much time with them.

4. .. the internet. When it comes to finding ideas for teaching bible class I love the internet. There is so much good out there if you just take the time to search for it. I guess this kinda goes with #2 but it's something different about my computer that I'm thankful for.

5. .. my sister who lets my boys tag along when they are in town for different events. Cade is at the moment with her and the kids watching my niece play intramural basketball. Cade absolutely LOVES it.

6. .. an empty sink!! An empty sink means the dishes have been done and I don't have to think about them again until tomorrow!!!

7. .. spring! It has been so nice being able to get outside and enjoy the warmth.

8. .. good clean books! One of my favorite authors is Karen Kingsbury. If you ever want a good book to read pick up one of hers. I have yet to read one of her books that wasn't just wonderful!

9. .. empty clothes hampers that mean all of the laundry is done (at least until tomorrow)

10. .. the extra kids I keep that allow me to stay at home with my own! I know I put this every week but It's something that I'm continually thankful for! They are truly a blessing!!

A morning with dad

This morning while some of us headed out to play group Cade and Chad headed out for some time of fishing! Chad has been on spring break this week and wanted to take Cade fishing while he was off. Chad went to Wal-mart yesterday and picked up a few things for their outing. They didn't have any luck but Cade said a fish did try to bite his hook!! Who knows!! They had a good time together even though they didn't catch anything. I sent the camera along with Chad so he could get some pictures. I was hoping for a picture of Cade with a fish. Maybe next time!!

Making Cookies

The boys absolutely love being at Rah Rah's (Chad's mom) house. They got to have a sleep over Friday night and had a great time. They brought home cookies that they helped make. They were very good and didn't last very long!! Today while we were over there the boys wanted to make some more so Rah Rah let them help again. What great memories they are making!!

Fun on the Farm

What a busy day we had. We left out this morning at about 8:30 with plans to see and visit with several people. We returned home at 5:30 very tired after a wonderful day. We first went to the farm to see my dad and his wife. The boys always have a great time at their house. It was a beautiful day so we spent most of the time outside throwing rocks in the creek and riding the 4-wheeler. We went from there to see my grandmother in the nursing home. She was thrilled to see the boys! The boys don't get to see granny very often so I'm glad we were able to get a visit in with her today. She was doing well and just happy that we stopped by. We went from there on to my sister Amanda's house to see her and the kids. It's always nice going over there because her kids take my kids as soon as we pull in the driveway and entertain them until we leave which gives me time to sit and chat with my sister!! I didn't get to stay as long as I would have liked (and didn't take any pictures while there) but we had to get back for the boys sleepover with Rah Rah! They were really looking forward to that. I have a feeling they won't be staying up too late tonight. They had a very long day!

Thankful Thursday

I AM THANKFUL FOR:
1. .. my washing machine that is at the moment washing 4 pair of pants and 4 pair of shoes that were caked in mud! I just hope the machine can handle the large amount of mud!!

2. .. Chad's mom who came by early this morning with a MUCH NEEDED drink from McDonalds!! Thank You Thank You Thank You!!

3. .. days when the kids get along! I know it sounds like they never do which is actually not far from the truth. Today they have ALL gotten along very well which means I am a happy mommy/child care provider!

4. .. movie nights! I look forward to having people over tonight to watch whatever movie Chad has picked for the week. I really just enjoy the snacks and company!!

5. .. my dryer that is about to dry those now clean pants and shoes.

6. .. my health and ability to get outside and play ball with the kids. My mom was never able to do this because of health problems so I am very thankful for the time spent playing outside with my boys.

7. .. videos that don't have any words like "stupid, any form of God's name used in inappropriate ways, butt, idiot, shut up, etc." It's hard to find videos without this mess in them today, even Disney movies have to be screened for these words. It's really sad! We do own several that don't have any of these words in them and we love them!

8. .. boys that remember their manners! Makes me proud.

9. .. for the boxes of spring clothes I got down out of the attic this week. I'm not really looking forward to going through the boxes and sorting everything out but am thankful that I shouldn't have to buy much for them this year!

10. .. I am thankful that the rain held off and we have been able to get outside and enjoy the day!

Your Turn! What are you thankful for this week??

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day!! Hope it's great! This was Cooper after "painting" a shamrock! As you can tell by his face not much paint actually made it to the paper. He enjoyed doing what the big kids were doing though.

theme-Creative Crop (Adult)

I decided to enter a picture into the adult category for the first time this week. It has Cooper in it too but I thought I would enter it anyway. It's a sweet picture. They are looking at the horses at our state park! Go check out the other adult entries at iheartface!

Library Card!!!

Today at the library Cade got his very own library card. You can't get a card until you turn 5 so Cade is feeling very big. Now that we have 2 cards (mine and his) we can check out twice as many books and movies as we have been getting. How fun!!

Doing Laundry!

Tonight while cleaning house Cooper helped with the laundry! Okay so maybe he wasn't actually HELPING but he was having a good time and he thought he was helping. We had some laundry going and a big pile on the floor waiting to be washed. He moved all of the dirty clothes from the floor to the dryer and back to the floor. He loves to help with the laundry. I'm really hoping his love of cleaning and doing laundry sticks with him as he gets older but for some reason I'm thinking it won't last!! If you ever need something to keep your little one busy just give him a pile of clothes and open the dryer door! It works at our house!!

Theme-messy face

This is my entry for this week. This was Chance after jumping in mud puddles. I'm sure it's not as messy as some but I really like this picture and he did have muddy water dripping off of him from head to toe so that qualifies as messy in my book! A Snowman!

This afternoon Chad went out and tried again to make a snowman. The snow was wet enough that he was able to pack it and get his snowman. Here is our snow friend!!

SNOW!!!!!!

Last night it started snowing and I really hoped it would snow a lot. I wanted just ONE really good snow before spring. Well this morning we woke to a beautiful thick blanket of snow. I measured it at 10 inches on my deck although some parts were deeper! We went out for a little while and played in the snow. It was so deep Cooper really had trouble getting around. It's not the best snowman making snow which Chad was a little disappointed in. It's so fluffy that it's hard to pack. We do plan on giving it another try later though! Maybe we will have better luck then. Just wanted to share a few pictures of the beautiful snow!!!
