Shiloh National Military Park

This morning we headed to Shiloh Military Park to spend the day. With it being Memorial day there was lots going on at the park. We had a great time. The boys loved being there in the wide open and looking at many of the monuments. Cade with the help of us all completed the Junior Ranger program. He was given a booklet and told to complete at least 8 of the activities. These activities included drawing certain things around the park and answering questions about the battle and many of the monuments. I think the adults enjoyed helping Cade just as much as Cade enjoyed doing it. I learned so much about the battle of Shiloh. It was a fantastic day!

The boys loved being at Rhea Springs! We took our lunch and stayed here for quite a while.

The boys worked on their Junior Ranger books. Cade completed most of his book. Chance did a couple drawings in his. Here is the flag he chose to draw from the visitor center!

We now have a junior ranger in the family!!

Baseball Cub Camp

This week Cade spent 4 mornings at baseball camp. He had a great time playing ball every day with his friends and learning more about the game of baseball.

Enjoyed daily popsicles!

They did lots of fielding drills

and practiced hitting a lot too!

On the last day they had sliding practice!! They watered down a huge tarp and and had a kids slide to home plate. What a fun way to end a hot week of camp!

Muddy Fun!

Our ditch may not be worth a flip when it comes to draining water but it sure makes a great mud hole for the boys to play in after it rains. We are hoping to have the guy back out to work on it again as soon as it dries out. Hoping this time he'll actually fix it to where it will drain. Until then we'll make the most of the mud hole!! The boys had a blast!

My Little Graduate

This morning Cade graduated from Kindergarten! What a great year he had! He loved his teacher Mrs. Danna (so did we) and he made lots of new friends. Cade enjoyed going to school every day with his daddy. It's pretty cool when you get to go to p.e. and have your dad for a teacher! Cade says he wants to teach gym class just like daddy when he grows up. Why??? Well he can play cone ball anytime he wants if he is the teacher!! Chad says that's a very good reason! Boys!!! Chad loved the time he got to spend with Cade to and from school every day too. I am looking forward to having them both home for the summer! I know the summer will fly by way too fast and Cade will start 1st grade before we know it! I'm going to try and not think about that anymore until I have to.

Very proud of my graduate

Cade with his teacher Mrs. Danna. She did make sure Cade knew that no matter how old he got SHE would always be his Kindergarten teacher!!!

Me and my boy!

Thanks to everyone who was able to come help make his special day even more special. We love you!

Graduation gift!!

Tonight Paden and Sarah came by with a surprise for Cade. He will graduate from Kindergarten in the morning. Can't believe it's that time already. Just them coming by to play with the kids was surprise enough but they came not only to play but with chocolate covered strawberries for everyone to enjoy. Sarah makes the best chocolate covered strawberries. I think Paden helped her with these!! They even spelled out Cade's name and year with his school colors!! How cool! Thanks Sarah and Paden. You guys ROCK!!

Aren't they great! A few got eaten before I could snap a picture!! They were really good.

Kindergarten Field Trip

Today I was able to go with Cade in his field trip to Circle Y in Corinth, MS. This was his first time ever to get to ride a BIG yellow school bus! He liked it. I followed behind carrying some of the coolers filled with lunches and snacks for the kids. Several moms from Cade's class went also so it was nice getting to know them a little. Living in a different county than he attends school makes it hard to get to know the kids and parents very well. Thankfully I've been able to go eat lunch and help in the classroom some so I've gotten to know the kids a little. He's made some good friends this year. Can't believe he will be done with school this time next week. Makes me sad!

Cade with one of his good friends Ty

In the petting zoo area

He got him a chicken!!

On the wagon heading to feed the fish

On the train ride with his buddy Braden. There were 17 cars and 18 kids so these two rode together!

A day at the park!

Spent the morning at the park. Kids had a great time. Chad has been out of school all week due to the storms that went through the area last weekend. Been nice having him here to help and enjoy the week with us.

The kids all wanted drinks from the pump even though there was a water fountain very close by. This was more fun I guess!!

Daddy helping him go down the fireman's pole.

Chance loving the swings

Cade enjoyed his extra days home this week too.

Too Tired...

Thank you for the sunshine!

This past weekend brought some of the worst weather we've had in a long time with more rain than I've ever seen fall in such a short amount of time. We were under tornado watches/warnings and flood warnings all weekend. It was crazy! Henderson got lots and lots of rain and had some flooding and washed out roads, etc. Some of the surrounding counties are still dealing with major damage due to flooding and tornados. I've seen pictures of Nashville, Tn that make me want to cry. They are suffering some major losses there.

We continue to keep the surrounding counties and other places in our thoughts and prayers as they deal with the affects of the weekends storms with loss of life, homes, businesses, etc. It's going to be a LONG road to getting things back like they were...don't know if they will ever really get back to the way they were.

After the terrible weekend weather Monday brought nothing but blue skies and sunshine! We were so thankful to see the sunshine that we made sunshine snacks and then headed outdoors for hours of play! Chad and Cade have been home from school all week due to the storm damage. It's been nice having them home but I hate the reason they are out. Waiting to hear if he'll go back on Thursday or not!
