Happy Birthday Chad
Chad celebrated his 35th birthday on Sunday. Chad's mom was out of town so we waited until later in the week to actually celebrate with cake and ice cream. She brought over a cake and let the boys decorate it for Chad. They found some of Chad's old basketball figures to put on top.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We found some candles for him to blow out. This was the best we could do with what we had in the house.

Summer library program
The kids always enjoy the different activities planned for the summer library program. One of their favorite days is when the wildlife guy comes. He brings lots if skins, antlers, etc to show the different type of wildlife in our part of the country. He also brings a live snake which is why he's the favorite of the summer program activities.

He brought a corn snake for the kids to touch. It was actually a very pretty snake and I do not like snakes!! I chose not to touch it!

On another day the kids learned about making good food choices and where some of our foods come from. The kids got to try lots of different healthy foods. My kids absolutely loved this and ate all kinds of fruits and veggies. They went back for seconds and thirds!!!

I was excited when they handed out lots of freebies to the parents!! Who doesn't love free things. We got a cutting board, measuring cup, hot pad, can drainer, and vegetable peeler! Fun!!

Bible Camp
Last week the whole family headed to Alabama to be a part of the first ever Apologetics Press week of bible camp. AP does an amazing work for the Lord's kingdom and we were honored to be a part of their week of camp. The boys loved being at camp and loved everything about it!! They got to stay in the youngest boys cabin with Chad which they thought was great.

Got to spend time with Mallory which was great.
This was our sports team for the week. Each team had to come up with their own name. The team with the most creative name won extra points to go toward their final score for the week. We didn't win extra points for our name but I thought "Tomahawks of Truth" was a pretty cool team name!! "Tomahawks" went along with the camp name....Indian Creek Youth Camp and "Truth" was chosen for the bible part of camp!

Cabin wars!
We had just over 200 people at camp! A great group!!

The boys spent the first week of summer break at art camp. The Fine Arts department at Freed-Hardeman provided a great week of fun and learning for the kids. On the last day of camp we were all invited to see a bit of what they learned. They all played their new recorders (which was quite a treat!!) and received awards.
