Savannah Thanksgiving

After spending Thanksgiving in Kentucky we came home looking forward to heading to Amanda's house on Saturday like we always do for our Thanksgiving meal with the family. It was wonderful as always with great food and way too many desserts!! I have a hard time not trying them all. Come to think of it I'm pretty sure I did try them all! I'm a little disappointed in myself for not getting many pictures. Oh well. We had a great time with or without pictures!

Thanksgiving in Henderson

We had a great Thanksgiving in Henderson with Chad's mom. Gramps and Grammy were able to travel from Montgomery to be with us for a couple of days. We spent lots of time eating, watching sports, and playing games. It was great being together!

A Great Thanksgiving

Spent Saturday in Savannah at my sister Amanda's house with about 40 or so other family members enjoying great food and fellowship!

Thanksgiving with Cody and Lauren

Last weekend Cody and Lauren came for an early Thanksgiving visit. As always we enjoyed their visit very much....it just wasn't long enough! We look forward to seeing them again in a few weeks for an early Christmas celebration! I didn't get very many pictures but here are a couple we got before they left on Sunday.

Pilgrim craft

Our last craft for the Thanksgiving week was making pilgrims. I had Cade and Cassidy both out of school on Wednesday so we had a full house. They love doing crafts just as much as my other kids do so I saved this craft for when they could do it with us.

What to do?

What do you do when you have 3 empty toilet paper rolls BUT you need 4? Well, you do whatever it takes to get a fourth! Even if that means emptying an entire roll of paper just to get it!


Did I really do that?? Yeah I really did! We remind the boys often not to unroll too much toilet paper and then what did I do...I unrolled the entire roll on purpose!! Don't worry, I reminded them again how they shouldn't do what mommy did! It was an emergency...I needed that roll :-)! Chad, of course, was thrilled when he came home and saw this. I don't know what the big deal is. It will get used just like it would have all rolled up nice and neat! Hey... I had 4 kids ready to make a turkey and only 3 empty rolls. That just wouldn't do! Could we have waited until another day to make our turkeys? Yes of course, but we didn't want to!

And just look how cute they turned out! Definitely worth the mountain of toilet paper now sitting in my bathroom!




The boys liked the turkeys and were really excited to show Cade the big pile of paper as soon as he got home from school. I heard, "Hey Cade, come look in mommy and daddy's bathroom. " Cade said, "whoa!" Chance said, "mommy had to do that so we could make turkeys." Ha! I may need to remind them again how we shouldn't pull off too much toilet paper...unless mommy says it's okay!

Raindrop

Last night the 1st graders put on their first annual Thanksgiving program. It was obvious the kids had worked hard on their program. They did such a wonderful job. Each child had an Indian name for the program. Cade's name was Raindrop! He was so cute in his Indian costume that he decorated himself!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner we have started enjoying some thanksgiving activities here at the house. Yesterday the kids made these pilgrim hats using popcorn. It was a fun activity for them and they got to eat the leftover popcorn which they enjoyed!

Thanksgiving Feast

Friday Chance had his Thanksgiving program and feast for preschool. The kids did a great job during the program. They acted out the book "A Turkey for Thanksgiving". Chance was a rabbit for the play. After the play and a slideshow we all ate a massive feast with everything you could possibly imagine...and MORE!
