Happy 11th Birthday!

Cooper has had a great birthday! Started out by going to Jacks for breakfast. His friend Jaxon met him there with a birthday card and money! Coop enjoyed a rocky mountain chocolate milk shake for breakfast! Yes....for breakfast! A boy only turns 11 once! After school we visited the shaved ice truck in town. They are so good. He got a half and half....Dreamsicle and Georgia Peach. Tonight his (and Chance's) team...The Red Turtles won their soccer match 3-1. It was a great end to an already great day. I love this boy and love being his mom. Happy 11th birthday Cooper.

Birthday lunch

This guy will turn 11 in just 2 short days. Today Rah Rah treated us all to lunch for an early birthday celebration. We ate at Atzimba's in Selmer. I'd never been there and it was really good. Cooper got the fiesta plate and it looked amazing. That boy loves shrimp!! We look forward to celebrating him some more on Tuesday!!

You Win Some, You Lose Some

Tonight was a great night for the green team. Cade's team won 5-3 and they were missing 4 players! They stepped up and played so well! Cade scored a goal and assisted in a couple more. Because all the boys play at the same time I had so split my time. I went to see the Chance and Cooper play the second half of their game. As soon as I got over there things started going down hill fast!! They were up by 2-0 when I got there and ended up losing 4-2. Cooper accidentally scored for the other team.  Yikes!! He said he stepped in a hole. I'm not sure what happened! It appeared he was going to kick it OUT of the goal but instead it was a straight shot into the goal. Whoops!! Oh well. He played hard and so did Chance. It just wasn't the ending the Red Turtles were hoping for. We'll get em next time!

Casting Crowns

Friday night I went with a group of girls (Caileigh, Nina, Cherri, Becky, Chelsea, Ashley B., and Lindley) to see Casting Crowns. We went to eat at Tulums before heading to the concert. This was my first concert since high school I think!!  I was so excited to hear them and excited about a girls night out. We had so much fun.

My running buddy!

For the past few days Cooper has been wanting to run. He's gotten out a couple times and run a mile by himself. Today he asked if I'd run with him. Of course I said......YES!! I loved running with him and was very impressed that he ran the whole time and ran a good pace. I look forward to some more running time with him and maybe even increasing his distance! he's thinking he may run cross country next year. There's talk going around that they will have a team next year at the Jr. High! I think that's a great idea!!

Just Another Saturday in Henderson

This morning I got up at 5:30! Why? Because I told myself I would get up and do a "long" run even if I had to do it by myself. My running buddy hurt her ankle so she's not able to run for a week. I'm so glad I got up and went. It was a great start to my day. I watched the sun rise over our small town as I ran and I was able to just run and think. I needed that time to myself. I enjoyed some coffee afterwards before heading home to get my boys ready for soccer. It was a hot day at the fields.  Chance and Cooper's team won 5-1 and Cade's team lost 5-1! They were short a couple of players and that hurt us ....especially since one was our goalie! Oh well. Cade played great and I was proud of his team for their effort despite the end score. Afterwards Cade reffed his second game of the day. He had the first game of the day too. I enjoyed watching him interact with the little kids. He did a great job and enjoys being able to make some extra money. I came home and picked green beans and have some canning as I type. It's been a busy but good day. I'm looking forward to bedtime!

Bunko

Tonight was Bunko night! I love Bunko nights. I get to spend a couple hours with ladies I don't usually spend much time with. I love getting to be around these ladies. We have so much fun together! There's always yummy food to eat but the laughter and fellowships with everyone is what makes it so great! Tonight I'm pretty sure I heard "Big Bunko" yelled about 20 times and that's no exaggeration! I got it twice. I didn't win the Big Bunko prize because we had a couple people get it 4 and 5 times! It was still fun getting to wear it for a few short minutes before having it stolen away! I did win a prize for the most wins though! I also won a prize for the most snake eyes.....ha! Pretty funny to have the most wins AND the most times to lose all of your points! Winning prizes adds a little more excitement to the night. Our prizes tonight came from the Pioneer Woman's mercantile shop. I love her!! Sherry Thompson went out to Oklahoma this summer and got to visit her shop and while she was there she picked out the Bunko prizes. So cool!! I got some of the cutest measuring cups and little serving dishes. I'm not sure I actually want to use them because they are so cute. I may just set them around for decorations or save them for special occasions.  I haven't decided. I will be hosting the next Bunko night here at the house. I look forward to that!

Opening Night of Soccer Season

Saturday was opening day of soccer but none of my boys had a game. Our first games were last night. Cooper and Chance are on the same team in u13 and Cade is in u16. Every single one of their games are on the same days at the same times. I will be watching one half of one game and the other half of the other each day I guess. They all played great last night and all came home with a win for their first game. Cade scored at least one goal and so did Chance. Cooper made some terrific blocks as goalie. I love watching them play ball. It was a super busy night with soccer and a Middle School open house all at the same time but I managed to get it all in. The back to school crazy busy life has begun!
