School Time

Can't believe summer break is over and it's time for school again. The boys switched schools this year so they are no longer going with Chad to Adamsville. I'm no longer babysitting full time in my home. Cooper started pre-k. We are all dealing with some changes this year but I think they are good changes. I hope to be able to be more involved with the boys in their school. I'm really looking forward to that. They love their teachers and are having a good year so far!

Chance is ready for 1st grade!!

Cade is now a 3rd grader...wow!

Cooper all ready to start pre-k!!

Fun on the Farm

We spent the day before school started at the farm with Papa and Clare Ruth. The weather was beautiful. The boys swam, played in the creek, rode the 4-wheeler, picked watermelons, shucked corn, and helped make homemade ice cream.

Everyone shucked their own corn for lunch!!

Food taste so much better when you help prepare it!!

We made ice cream the old fashioned way....hand crank!! Our arms all got a good workout!

When it got hard to turn Cooper sat on the bucket to help keep it still while Papa gave it a few more turns!!

It was delicious!! Butterfinger ice cream....yum!!

Being Creative

My boys have been all about creating things lately. Chance especially can take just about anything and create something cool from it! He has been obsessed with tape and paper lately! The boy can use a whole lot of tape in a very short amount of time. But I love to see him using his imagination so I try to overlook the mess he makes and the amount of tape and printer paper he uses!!

One of his many creations was this umbrella!! Not sure how well an umbrella made of paper will hold up in the rain but he worked and worked and worked on this thing and he was very proud of it. I was pretty impressed with all the things he used to get it to look like an umbrella. Several pencils, toothpicks, pieces of paper, and lots of tape were used!

One day the boys built this fort and played in it almost the entire day. I loved seeing them work together and play without argiung. Doesn't happen very often so I tried to enjoy it and not interrupt their playing.

Cooper sat in the kitchen floor one evening drawing this. I walked by and said, "Cooper, that's a really good person you drew.' He replied, "Well actuawwy that's Jesus walking on the water. See this is Jesus and this is the water that he's walking on. And this is the sunshine!' Sweet boy!

Mid South Junior Camper

Cade enjoyed his second year at Mid-South Youth Camp as a junior camper. He loved being there with some of his closest friends. He's already looking forward to being at camp again next year.

AP camp

This summer we once again spent a week at Indian Creek Youth Camp helping lead the Apologetics Press week. We all had a great week learning and growing together. Chad headed up sports for the week and was a counselor for the youngest boys cabin. The boys all stayed in the cabin with him. I taught all the kids that were 2nd grade and under so their parents could teach and do their jobs. I had a great group of about 12 kids. The boys had a great time. Cade's favorite part of camp was of course the sports. Chance loved the craft shack and the sand covered volleyball court...which is where he spent a lot of his free time, and Cooper liked the crafts and the sand too!

The boys got to help lead "The Bumblebee Song". I think they are wiping off the baby bumblebee here!!

Party at the Farm

Caleb came home for a short visit from the army this summer. Before heading back out for another year and a half to South Korea we had a get together at the farm for him. We all ate well and enjoyed being able to spend some time with him before he left. We are so very proud of him. He's such a neat guy.

The boys with Caleb

The creek is a great place for pictures. We took quite a few while at the farm!

I love this one of the boys looking in the water. The reflection is perfectly clear!

Clara Ruth had the house all decked out in red, white, and blue for the occasion

We look forward to the next visit home!!
