This past weekend our Christians In Action Sunday morning bible class had our annual retreat at Nathan Bedford State Park. We look forward to this weekend every year. For my family this was a much needed weekend to get away and spend time with our friends. We spent time singing devotional songs, listening to some great lessons on staying anchored in God even when life throws storms our way. We played lots of games (indoors and outdoors) and ate lots of great food. It was a wonderful weekend spent with some of the best people I know. We look forward to next year already.

Last Day of School
Well the boys have finished their 4th, 6th, and 8th grade years! Hard to believe the school year is already over. Each year seems to go by faster and faster. We checked the boys out a little early today and went and got Jacks milkshakes to celebrate the end of another great school year. We are ready for summer break!
Field Day at CCMS
Cooper had his field day yesterday. We were afraid the weather was going to mess things up but it ended up being the perfect day. I ran the concessions for the day so I wasn't able to see much of Cooper until we closed down after lunch. Running concessions for around 500 students is quite a job! It went great though and I think everyone enjoyed it. I was able to watch the most exciting part to every field day....Tug of War! Coops class won the first round but were taken down pretty easily in the final round. They came up off the ground with smiles on their faces so losing wasn't so bad....ha! It was sure funny to watch.
Awards Day
Tuesday was Awards Day at the Middle School. Cooper was awarded with perfect attendance, all A honor roll for the year, the wisdom award, and the Milky Way award (setting a good example and having quality work that was "out of this world"). He had a great year with Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Snider. We are so thankful for the wonderful teachers in this county. Cooper is well prepared for 5th grade!
4th grade Wax Museum
The Middle school 4th graders had a Wax Museum on Monday morning. Each student was assigned a historical figure to write about, create a board about, and dress as if possible. They would stand at their station and talk to people about themselves as they came by and pushed their button. Cooper was Christopher Columbus. He did an excellent job and looked adorable! I loved seeing all of the kids dressed up and telling about their person.
Happy Mother's Day
The guys made Mother's Day a great day. I was treated to supper on Saturday night and then on Sunday they took care of all of the work around the house. They wrote me the sweetest cards and I was even given my very own book about ME written by Chad. It's the neatest thing. I'm very blessed to be the mother of these three boys and the wife of Chad. They definitely made me feel special on Mother's Day and every other day. They are a good bunch!

Student of the Week!
Each week at the Jr. High a new 6th, 7th, and 8th grader is chosen to be the student of the week. They earn a free dress down day and a free snack from the snack cart. Chance was the 6th grader chosen for this week. Enjoy your snack and dress down day!
Watching Ellery play ball
Since the boys don't play baseball anymore we don't spend much time at the ball park. I've missed it! Ellery is playing this year and we've gone to watch her a few times. It's so much fun watching her. This age group (5-6 year olds) gets really excited.
Makin Music
This post is about a month overdo but wanted to post anyway! The boys all got to attend Makin Music at Freed this year! I love that the schools here let our students get out of school for a few hours to enjoy this event on campus. It's always so much fun!
Johnny, Jaxon, and Cooper ready for the show!
These 8th graders are ready too! Caraline, Cade, Zane, and Mr. Maxwell photo bombing in the background! I literally just noticed that as I posted this picture....haha!
Chance and a few of his buddies ready for the show to start. Paul, Hunter, and Kase
Cade awards ceremony
Jr. High had their awards ceremony on Tuesday. Cade was awarded 3 different awards. He got the Math award from Mrs. Alexander, the Character award from Mrs. Debbie Jones, and the Gold Presidential award for his grades and scores on TN Ready test.
Banquet Night
Last Friday night we had 18 kids at our house. It was also banquet night at the Jr. High. This bunch chose not to go. Instead they chose to come hang out at our house. We grilled for them and they spent the night playing outdoor and indoor games and just hanging out. I love this bunch of kids and love that they'd rather be together hanging out at our house than all dressed up at a banquet.
Cooper
CCMS had their first ever formal awards ceremony on Sunday. Cooper was awarded 2 awards for being the high scorer on the CASE test. He earned top marks on the Reading and Math parts of the test. Good job Cooper! Keep working hard!!
Bunko Beauty
This guy got to be one of our subs at the last Bunko night. Not only did he get to play bunko with all the ladies, he won the most Big Bunkos!! He wore that crown proudly.
Top Spot!
Cade is such a hard worker in school. He works to be the best at everything he does. This year he earned the #1 spot in his 8th grade class. We are so proud of the effort he puts forth in his studies. He not only works hard to be the best student he can be, he works hard to be the best person he can be and for that we are most proud. Way to go Cade!!
Soccer season is over.
Cade and Chance had a great soccer season. Cade finished up his Jr. High career and Chance started his. We enjoyed watching them play and growing as soccer players and teammates. We hope to be watching them again next year. Last night we enjoyed a great meal as a team and the 8th graders were honored. They presented their coaches with a money tree. Coach Staci and Coach Jud not only coached our boys, they loved them on and off the field. We are thankful for their examples. The bottom picture is a comparison of some of our 8th graders who also played as 6th graders. They've grown so much over the past 2 years. They are great friends and love to play ball together.
