The Pig Trot and Walk4Water

Today was a super busy day filled with sports, BBQ festival, Walk4Water, RUSH weekend at Freed, and The Pig Trot! The Pig Trot is our 5K run that goes along with the BBQ festival. I got up this morning and ran it. Cooper went with me and cheered me on with his poster! There were around 80 runners between the 1 mile fun run and the 5K. I placed 12th overall and was the 2nd female finisher. I placed first in my age group of 40-49 year olds!! Yay! It was a cool morning which made running a little easier. I finished in 26:15. I was very pleased! After the race we went and watched Cade play soccer. Chance has basketball tryouts and a youth basketball game. He will find out next week about tryouts. Hoping we'll be watching him play some ball this coming season.

This afternoon we went to FHU to be a part of Walk4Water. Cade is at RUSH so he didn't get to participate. The boys walked several miles because that's what the kids in Haiti and other countries have to do to get clean water. We're hoping to help raise enough money to put another clean water well in Haiti. They love being a part of this event.

BBQ Festival

This weekend was the BBQ Festival. It's one of my favorite weekends of the year in Henderson....especially when the weather cooperates! This year the weather was perfect. I love walking around Main Street checking out all the vendors, chatting with friends, eating yummy food, and listening to the talent show. I just love our small town.

Fall Ball

Boys are in a Chester County Fall Ball League this year. It's been great practice for them. Hoping it will help them get ready for the upcoming ball season. Chance has tryouts next weekend so we're hoping this extra practice will pay off and he'll make the team!! Cade will be playing his first year of high school ball this season. We are looking forward to watching him.

Homecoming Parade

Today was the high school homecoming parade. I always love getting to go out with the elementary kids and watch the parade. They get so excited! This was an extra fun year for me because Cade was in it. He was part of the Freshman float along with the other student government members. They looked AWESOME!!! I was so proud of them and all the work they put into their hallway and float. They went with a villain vs. heroes theme. They all dressed up and waved as they rode down main street. They were great and the kids loved them.

The Sophomore Class had the 'video game theme', the Juniors had an 'under the sea theme', and the seniors were the "small town with big dreams theme."  They were all spectacular!! Of course there were other club floats and LOTS of cars and trucks!! Love our small town parade!

Homecoming at CCHS

The freshman class spent hours Monday night decorating the QUAD at the high school for homecoming. They did a great job and their hall looks awesome. They are hoping to "Avenge The Eagles" Friday night!! Lots of hard work went into their theme and they should be very proud of the results. Way to go Freshman Class!

Cooper's B-day Fun

Cooper's birthday was weeks ago. We never got around to celebrating with his friends like he wanted. This weekend the big boys were both gone on a youth group trip so we decided that it would be a good time to have some friends over. We ended up with just 3 friends because 2 have strep and 2 had baseball tournaments. These 4 guys had fun though. They played flag football, basketball, Xbox, Uno Attack, and Nerf wars. They ate pizza, cookie cake, and ice cream.....everything you need for a good party!! :-)

Racing So They Can Ride 10K

This morning Caileigh and I ran a 10K in Jackson. It was ROUGH but we did it!! I finished first place in my age group with a time of 57:07. Not bad for my first 10K race in years. It was not an easy course though. I actually regretted signing up for the 10K when all the 5K runners turned and headed to the finish line and I had to keep going and run the whole course AGAIN!! Ha!! I did it though and finished it still running. When it was over I felt better and was glad I did it!Cooper made me a sign and held it up as I passed by. Sweet Boy.
