What do you see?

Were you one of those kids who loved to lay out in the sun and stare up at the sky and find objects in the clouds? I was! Today has been a great day for doing just that. The sky is blue and the cloud are fluffy and white. The boys and I were out after lunch enjoying the sun and I had them stop and see what they could find in the clouds. I love how one cloud can look like something totally different to different people. Here's what we saw today. What do you see when you look at these clouds??

My sweet boys!

A Cow!

A Crown!

An Airplane!

A Mouse!

A Bunny!

Doesn't that make you want to just head outside to see what you can find!!!

Painting Fun!

What a week we've had! Nothing but sunshine everyday!!! Spent some time outside this morning painting and doing a little of this and little of that. One thing the kids love to do is paint. The kids can never seem to paint without it ending up all over them. Today was no exception. After a few minutes of using the brushes I start hearing, "can I paint my hands?", "Can I use my fingers to paint a picture?", "I want to make foot prints", and so on! I've learned they can't just finger paint (you know, using one finger dipped in paint) ..they use the entire hand covered in paint. They actually did paint some pictures of trees (I was painting with them and showing them how to do it) before they got carried away with the paint. They had a good time making a colorful mess!!

They love picnics!

My kids would eat lunch outside every single day I think if I would let them. This week has been absolutely gorgeous so we've actually eaten outside for lunch everyday so far...either here at the house or at the park. Food just seems to taste so much better when you eat it outside...even for the kids!

God made the butterfly!

With spring time here we've been trying to do some spring time crafts and activities. This week we focused on butterflies. Here are a few of the things we made.

The kids helped decorate butterfly cupcakes. Found this idea at www.marthsstewart.com. They kids loved this tasty treat!

Cade helped make some to take and share with his class at school. This week is Makin Music at Freed Hardeman and Cade's teacher Mrs. Danna has a daughter that goes to Freed. Her daughter is in a show about bugs so we thought these cupcakes would be perfect for Mrs. Danna's class. She loved them!

Here are a couple more crafts we did this week. I found both of these on-line somewhere. Most of the things we do are things I've found on-line. I love the internet!! We made butterflies from sandwich bags, tissue paper and pipe cleaners. Then I had the kids make the life cycle of the butterfly using pasta and beans. Thought they turned out cute...it was a super easy craft too which I like!! I'm always looking for fun and easy craft ideas so if you ever have any please send them my way!

Pool time...finally!

The boys have begged and begged for me to get the pool out for a few weeks now (well since the official first day of spring!). I've really been trying to hold off for a little longer. Once it's out they want to swim EVERYDAY rain or shine. Yesterday was so warm and pretty that I gave in and got it out. The water stayed pretty cold even with me filling it up a few hours before they swam. It didn't slow them down at all. Today has been gloomy and the next couple of days are supposed to be cool so we won't be having anymore pool time for several days.

Cooper ran as fast as he could and then stopped and slowing climbed in...funny!

From Lads to Leaders!!!

This weekend we were blessed to attend our first ever Lads 2 Leaders convention. Our congregation went to Nashville to the Opryland Hotel. It is a gorgeous place and VERY big. I got turned around several times and by the time I finally started to find my way around we were done and ready to go home. Maybe next year It will be a little easier for me to find my way around although a year is a lot of time for me to forget!! The boys loved being there and walking through the garden areas. Cade participated in 4 events this year...2 of which he did before the convention and 2 he did at the convention. He did "know the books", "good samaritan", "bible reading", and "song leading". We are so proud of him and all of the kids that went to convention and worked so hard on the events they were in. It was neat being surrounded by so many friends and fellow Christians who were all there for the same reason, to help our kids become better leaders. What a great program!

My little Lad!

The garden area was so pretty. I had to stop and take pictures every few minutes!

Cade leading "Blue Skies and Rainbows". We had 3 boys from Henderson in the K-2 group. Cade was happy to have Carter and Ty by his side. They all did a wonderful job.

Cade read Romans 8:28,31 for his bible reading. He did a great job. Once again we had 3 boys in K-2 group from Henderson. Good job Andrew, Cade, and Carter!
