Bowling Fun

We are on Spring Break this week. On Friday we will head to Nashville for Lads to Leaders. We had no plans to go anywhere this year with our Lads weekend being at the end of our break. We decided to spend a day in Jackson bowling and eating. We bowled a couple fun games. Afterwards we went to Red Robin and ate. It was very yummy! Boys got bottomless root beer floats! They loved every bit of it!! I watched them all down 2 a piece along with their food! Where they put it all I have no idea! I'm glad they enjoyed it as much as they did. The Irwin's joined us for a while at the bowling alley. Gibson and Sullivan think the big boys are the best!!

Animal Expert!

Last week Cooper had Career Day at school. The students were told to dress as what they might want to be when they grow up. The only thing they weren't allowed to dress as were Professional Athletes! I mean what kid doesn't want to grow up to be an NBA players or and NFL player. The odds of that happening are pretty slim for most! So they had to choose something else. Cooper went as a Wildlife Expert. he loves animals and wants to do something in that field. You can do it Coop!!

I need a bus!

The boys played USJ last week for their second game of the season. We lost a hard fought battle 2-1. Cade scored our only goal! This was us on the way to the game. It's not uncommon for me to have several extra players with me when we travel. Our school doesn't take a bus to most away games. I always enjoy hearing the conversations and laughs with a van FULL of boys on these trips!

Solar System

Chance had to create a solar system model for his science class. They were told they could use anything BUT styrefoam balls! What?? Isn't the reason those things were created....for solar sysytem projects! Ha!! Oh well. He used play doh and created some pretty cool looking planets.

Time Slow Down!

Got this boy registered for high school! What in the world. Can't believe that in just a few short months he'll be entering that school at a 9th grader.

Soccer has begun!

Last week the boys played their first Jr. High soccer game of the season. They played against Lexington. It was not the best day for soccer with windy and cold weather but our boys pulled out a win against one of their biggest rivals, We won 2-1. Cade scored our first goal. Yay!! Go Eagles!

4-H

Thursday Cooper had 4-H. It was the cornbread and biscuit making contest. He really wanted to participate so I told him he could. We called Clara Ruth and got her cornbread recipe because that's his favorite. We got up early Thursday and he mixed his cornbread up and got it in the oven. As soon as he did he decided he'd ike to make some biscuits too! What?? I got online and found a quick and easy recipe for homemade biscuits and he went to work. The boys all had cornbread and biscuits for breakfast and said they were both very good. he took them to school and came home with 2 ribbons! He won first prize for his cornbread and second place for his biscuits. Clara Ruth was very proud to know he used her recipe and won first place. He says he wants to bake when he gets older. Hopefully he'll be able to cook some yummy things for his family one day.
