A Happy Fourth of July

I haven't been able to upload pictures in forever it seems ...I guess it's only been a couple of weeks but it feels like forever. We had a great Fourth of July. We were able to go see firework with our friends, Jared, Sasha, and Rachel at Freed Hardeman which the boys loved. It was a beautiful night for fireworks. After watching the show the boys did a few sparklers with Mr. Jared and Mrs. Sasha. It was a fun evening.

Soccer Camp

I've gotten a little behind on blogging over the past couple of weeks. We've had a lot going on around here. Last week Cade and Chance attended soccer cub camp. It was a super hot week with temperatures reaching 100* a couple of days. I was worried the boys would get too hot and not want to be there but that was not the case. Everyday they left soaking wet saying "soccer camp is great!" I'm so glad they had a good time. I enjoyed seeing them play together. This was Chance's first time to go to sports camp. He LOVED it! They are both looking forward to starting soccer season soon.

A trip

This past weekend we along with Chad's mom headed to Georgia to visit Cody and Lauren. We don't get to see Chad's brother and his wife very often so we were happy to be able to make the trip. It's a good 6+ hour trip but the boys did very well traveling. We enjoyed getting to see all the work (remodeling) they'd done on their house...which I might add was built in 1885. Houses are definitely not built like they were back then anymore! We had a great time just relaxing and visiting with them. We had no plans to do anything else on this trip and it was really kinda nice. We got to eat at some really neat places. Cody and Lauren always find the neatest places to go. They also cooked us some amazing meals!!

Chad's mom found some neat games for the boys to do on the trip to help make the time go by a little faster. One of them was Bingo. The boys had fun looking for the items on the card. I can't remember the site right now that she found these on but it sounded like a really cool site for those who travel much.

Cody and Lauren took us a to a really neat ice cream shop that I can't remember the name of.....maybe Rita's or something like that! Anyway that place had the absolute best italian ice I've ever eaten!

Monday morning we got up and headed to Alabama (just a couple hours away) to visit Gramps (Chad's grandad) and Grammy. We enjoyed a full day on Monday and a few hours on Tuesday before heading back home. Chad had to be back home for an inservice today.


The boys enjoyed playing at the park. It's a really neat park. I wish we had something like it around here.





Cooper and the duck had a stare down! The duck won! Cooper lost interest and went to the playground!


The boys all got lots of playtime with Gramps and Grammy. They love to play air hockey, pool, and ping pong when we go visit. Chad and I enjoy it just as much.


The boys really did a great job traveling but they were so ready to be home and out of the van!

Beautiful!

Just wanted to share pictures of the rainbows we saw this week. The first one we saw on Monday (Memorial Day) from the corner of our yard. The second picture of the double rainbow was taken last night on our way to Savannah. A rainbow is not something we get to see all that often but a double rainbow is even more rare! They were beautiful!

Basketball Cub Camp

"Thanks for paying money for me to go to basketball camp!" These were the words spoken by Cade at the end of his week at basketball camp. He absolutely loves basketball (and tennis lately) and had a great time at camp. He enjoyed baseball camp a lot last week but I think basketball makes the top of his list! He even said a prayer of thanksgiving for basketball camp one day before lunch! I'm glad he was able to go. He worked hard the whole week and learned a lot.

Shiloh National Military Park

This morning we headed to Shiloh Military Park to spend the day. With it being Memorial day there was lots going on at the park. We had a great time. The boys loved being there in the wide open and looking at many of the monuments. Cade with the help of us all completed the Junior Ranger program. He was given a booklet and told to complete at least 8 of the activities. These activities included drawing certain things around the park and answering questions about the battle and many of the monuments. I think the adults enjoyed helping Cade just as much as Cade enjoyed doing it. I learned so much about the battle of Shiloh. It was a fantastic day!





The boys loved being at Rhea Springs! We took our lunch and stayed here for quite a while.




The boys worked on their Junior Ranger books. Cade completed most of his book. Chance did a couple drawings in his. Here is the flag he chose to draw from the visitor center!




We now have a junior ranger in the family!!
