Halloween Fun!

This past week was full of Halloween fun! We started off the Halloween activities Tuesday night with Trick or Trunk at the church building which was hosted by our teens. Due to rain and cool temps it was moved into the activity center. We had a great time. For the first time I did a trunk (or table due to rain) and it was so much fun.

I went as a Ninja turtle (thanks to my friend Sasha who loaned me a costume) and Chad went as a Ninja!

Me, Jennifer, and Sasha

Ninja Chance

Ninja Cade

Cooper as a power ranger or Ninja or something like that!!

Our table. Kids had to throw bean bags through the pumpkins face..they loved it! Next to this Chad had a basketball goal (imagine that) set up for kids to shoot on!

Two days later we went out to Estes for their Trunk or Treat. We went with our new friends (and neighbors). The kids always have such a good time at Estes. They have lots of fun games, crafts, and food!
What a crew!

We had fun making halloween snacks and crafts during the week. A few of our things included rice krispie treats that looked like candy corn, pumpkin shaped sandwiches, and candy corn and spider crafts!

Spider craft made from egg carton (1 section) and pipe cleaners.

The boys were invited by their friends Ethan, Shaw, and Trey to a costume party on Saturday. There were about 30 kids all together and they had a blast. Thanks to their parents Jason and Casie for hosting it. They were very brave to have that many kiddos out!
Went on a hayride. This trailer was loaded!!

Thought these were cute little treats!

Chance seemed to have his moth full of something every time I went to take his picture!

Self Portrait

The first graders have been working on self portraits in art class at school. Here is Cade's portrait! :-)!!!!!! What do you think?!?! Looks just like him...right! Pretty good for a 6 year old I think! He's pretty proud of it.

Pumpkin Carving

The boys carved their pumpkins yesterday afternoon....finally! They've been wanting to carve pumpkins for a couple of weeks now but I made them wait because I didn't want the pumpkins rotting before Halloween! I think the adults did most of the cleaning and carving but we had a good time and the boys are very proud of their pumpkins.

Fall Baseball

Yesterday was Cade's last day of fall baseball. He had a great time. The coaches were so good with the team and he made some new friends. Apart from his friend Carter who he's played on more than one baseball team with the rest of the kids were new teammates. He had only played against them and he loved getting to play with them!!

This is everyone but Ty

During almost every game the coaches had the kids swap up and play different positions. I loved that they did this. Cade got to play second and third bases, pitcher, outfielder, and even got to play catcher during one game! Of course he liked some positions better than others but it was good for him practice playing all of them. They ended the season only losing 1 game! They did very well!!

Campfire fun

Friday night we met some of the "young professionals" class out at the Chickasaw campgrounds. We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows for smores and had a great time visiting. Our friends Jason and Ashley like to go camping and were actually staying overnight at the campgrounds. Cade now says he really wants to go camping and sleep in a tent! Wonder how Jason and Ashely would feel about an overnight guest sometime..ha! I'm pretty sure Chad's not going to be sleeping in a tent anytime in the near future and I haven't been tent camping since elementary school. We don't have the first thing needed to go camping! Don't think we'll be the ones taking him!

Fall Festival

Thursday night Adamsville had their Fall Festival. The kids had fun playing games, eating, jumping on the bouncers, and creaming their daddy with whipped cream! I think creaming Chad was their favorite part of the night! Adamsville made a lot of money during Chad's 30 minute time in the pie booth. What does that say about him?!?! The kids love him!

I love Chance's face here! Pure joy! It's not everyday you can cream your dad!

Cade chose to cream Coach Logan instead of Chad. Logan was Chad's student teacher for several weeks. He's a good guy and such a good sport. His student teaching at Adamsville actually ended 2 days before the Fall Festival and he still chose to come get creamed!

First Grade Field Trip

Friday Cade's class took a trip to Donnell Century Farms in Jackson. We could not have asked for a prettier day to be outside on the farm. I was happy to be able to go on this trip with him. Chance and Cooper got to spend the day with Papa and Clara Ruth. They had a great time as well.

Being Silly!
