Our family participated in Walk4Water again this year. This is the second year we've held the walk in Henderson. We had a great turnout again this year even though the weather was not that great. We had about 10 more people walk this year than we had last year. We helped raise almost $3,000 to go towards a clean water well to be dug in Haiti. This well will be dug in memory of Roberta Edwards who lost her life tragically a few weeks ago in Haiti. This will be the second well that the Henderson congregation and other donors have helped place in Haiti. I'm proud to be a part of this special group! We look forward to walking again next year!

Veterans Day Project
All of the second grade had to do a project for Veterans Day. They were given a list of questions to ask a Veteran. Cooper did his project with a man we go to church with. His name is Clovis D. Parsons. We all know him as Mr. Buddy! He was so nice to let Cooper interview him. We took all the information and put it into a report. Cooper presented his report at school. This Friday they will have a Veterans Day program at school. We are hoping Mr. Buddy will be able to make it.
Character Pumpkin Contest
Chance and Cooper both had pumpkin contest at school last week for Halloween. They were to decorate a pumpkin to look like a book character. I'm always amazed at all of the pumpkins people come up with. Neither one of the boys won the contest. There was some tough competition. They loved their pumpkins and were proud of them. I thought they both did a great job and had some cute pumpkins. They did most of the painting on their own. I did help by drawing some outlines. It was a team effort. Chance went with Pinocchio and Cooper went with Pete the Cat.
Warrior Dash
I recently participated in my first ever Warrior Dash. It's 3.7 miles of trails and obstacles. Wow!! It was so much fun. We left there covered in mud from head to toe. The obstacles were really fun and some were even a little scary. I made it through them all and finished the course. I definitely want to do it again in the future.
Toni Austin and Amber Wells were my Warrior buddies for the day!
Falcon Ridge Farm
We spent our last day of Fall Break at Falcon Ridge Farm. Chad was back in school so Leslie and I took the kids and had a fun time. We took a picnic lunch and enjoyed the farm. The boys could spend all day just playing in the corn box! They did leave it long enough to explore the corn maze and see the animals. We took a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch and picked out a few pumpkins. We stopped by Chickasaw State Park on the way home and played for a while too.
Fall Break trip to Savannah
The boys had fall break a couple of weeks ago. We spent one day at Papa and Clara Ruth's in Savannah. Clara Ruth always has lots of fun activities planned for the boys when they come. This trip was no exception. They painted metal C,s that Papa got from an old papermill sign. They carved pumpkins and spent lots of time throwing rocks into the creek. The weather was perfect for being outside. They all got a ride on the 4-wheeler too!
Reading Literacy Nights
Cooper and Chance both had family reading nights at school recently. The theme of Cooper's was camping. There were lots of tents and camping chairs for the kids to sit in and read books. They ate a smores snack and watched a nature video. They also made reading bookmarks. It was a fun night.
The theme of Chance's was Monsters. They made a craft and sat around on blankets and beanbags in the gym and read books. They also ate a monster snack and took pictures at a monster photo booth. We are thankful the boys go to schools that try hard to make learning fun.
