Snow Much Fun!
Today we got out again and enjoyed the snow that now has an inch of ice sitting on top of it. We don't have sleds but really wanted to do some sledding. We looked around and decided that we would try our sandbox lid and an empty laundry basket!! We're just trying to make the most of what we have to work with! You know what...they worked very well although I did keep dumping the boys out of the laundry basket. It worked great as long as we stayed on the smooth areas. We played for almost an hour and then the boys decided they'd had enough. We headed inside for hot chocolate and sandwiches.

Pictures for mom!
So what do the boys do while stuck inside on snow days..they paint spring pictures!! Chance painted these "love" flowers for me. Cade says love flowers are actually roses! Whatever kind they are I "LOVE" them!

Here's Cade's picture to me. If you're wondering what the two large black things are in the middle...that's me and Cade. I'm the one that has the most hair :-)

Snow Day!
It's been snowing here most of the day. We have lots of snow!!! I've been hoping for 1 "good" snow before spring. This is definitely a good one! Schools are out here and in the surrounding counties so we've enjoyed the day with Chad and Cade home. I started out the morning with 4 extra kids but due to the weather they were all gone by 1 o'clock! I haven't actually measured it but I'm pretty sure we have at least 6 inches... maybe more in some spots!

Cooper liked the snow but wanted help walking in it. It was a little deep. I was holding his hand and helping him walk across the drive and he said "you're a great mom, you're helping me walk in the snow!" Sweet boy!!
Cade of course loved being in the snow but decided that it wasn't best to run and slide across the snow on your belly. He got snow down the front of his shirt and that was just too cold!!
Snow Cream!
With such a big snow we just had to make some snow cream. The boys wanted it to be green. It was the best green snow cream I've ever had!!

Why did God do that?

While laying in bed tonight Cade looked up at his solar system that now hangs directly above his head and asked if there were aliens on those other planets. I told him, "There are no aliens but sometimes movies and cartoons will say there are aliens on Mars or one of the other planets. That's just pretend. The only planet that has anything living on it is Earth. That's the way God made it!" Cade looked up and said, "well why did he make all of those other planets if he wasn't going to do anything with them?" I told him that I really wasn't sure but that he could ask God that question one day when he got to heaven and get the answer! I just love curious minds!

One Little, Two Little, 3 Little....
Snowmen!!!
Yes...we painted snowmen even with temperatures in the 50,s and low 60,s over the past few days! It is still Winter though!! The kids painted these last Friday..except for Cade who painted his on Saturday when he was home from school. I thought they did a great job...even Cooper who is only 2 did a good job. He started out doing great and had the white part of the snowman looking good... then he kinda got carried away with the rest of it! That's okay!
I love how chance has the snowman arms coming out of it's head!
Here are the girl's snowmen too! They were all very proud of their work!
