Pinta' and Nina

After worship and bible class today we headed to Savannah to have lunch with my sister Amanda and her family. It was yummy!! After lunch we all headed to Florence, Al to see the Pinta' and Nina (replicas of course) that were done by the Columbus Foundation. They were very cool. They really aren't very big boats....at least not as big as I imagined they were as a kid learning about Columbus. Big or not, it was a really neat being able to go aboard a boat like Columbus sailed across the ocean in! Don't get to do that every day!!

Soccer time!

Today was actually our 3rd soccer game but the first day I actually remembered my camera! I usually have it with me but the last 2 weeks we had other things going on at the same time as soccer (yard sale the 1st week, and a birthday party last week) and I just forgot the camera. Oh well! The boys are really enjoying the season so far. Cade scored his first 2 goals of the season last week and I missed them because I had the other 2 boys at a birthday party! When he got to the party the first thing he did was tell me about his game. He was so excited! No goals were scored by him today in his game but he played great defense and offense. Chance on the other hand did score a goal today...his first of the season and boy was he happy!!! It's taken him until today to really get into the game. The first week he didn't want to be out there at all....it was almost 100* at 9:00 in the morning so I couldn't really blame him! Last week he ran up and down the field which was an improvement from the first week but he still wasn't really into the game! Today though he was a whole different child. He played hard and loved it! Maybe it was the new cleats (new as in hand-me-downs from my awesome sister in a bigger size than he was wearing!!) He did tell me last week his cleats hurt his feet (told me this on the way to the game...can't really do anything about it at that point!) so we found some bigger ones after that game (he did get a blister) which he said felt GREAT! I'm just glad he finally decided he wanted to play some soccer! It just takes him more time to warm up to things than it does Cade. He's like that with most everything and that's okay although it can be frustrating!

Cooper's birthday

My baby turned 3 today! When I look at him I have a hard time seeing a 3 year old....he's supposed to be the baby (I know he'll always be my baby but still) and a 3 year old is NOT a baby! I love that my boys are getting older and able to do more "big boy" things but at the same time I wish time would slow down just a little because they are getting big way too fast! We had a great celebrating Cooper!

Sarah and Paden stopped by Thursday night with an early birthday surprise for Cooper. They brought an ice cream cake (love those) and a present from Aunt Amanda, Uncle Scott and all the cousins! They couldn't be with us today at the birthday party but they wanted to celebrate Cooper turning 3 too. My boys love their cousins and would love to see them more than they do. Cooper loved the present (4 very cool airplanes)...actually they all loved Coopers present!

Cooper loved his Spiderman cake. He originally wanted an animal cake and then switched to a tractor cake, then to a dog and finally settled on Spiderman. I was pleased with how it turned out and I think Cooper was too!

Our new home!

I was told I needed to post a picture of our new house so here it is! We just recently closed on it and are very happy to call it our new home. We all love it but are having to adjust to some things now that we are out in the country (not too far out though) that we didn't have to worry with in town like taking our trash to the dump and mowing a LOT more grass than we are used to...just to name a couple. We love the space and have some great neighbors. It will take us a while to get the house exactly like we want it but we are making a little progress every day!

Lemonade and Cookies for Sale

Last weekend I along with several other people had a yard sale. It went great and we got rid of tons of stuff! The boys asked earlier that week if they could sell cookies and lemonade at the sale! I told them yes and had plans to make a bunch of cookies and lemonade for them to sit out and sell. Well I ran out of time to get it done but thanks to the best Rah Rah in the whole wide world they had cookies and lemonade to sell!! They sold all the cookies they had and most of the lemonade and were excited about the little bit of money they made. They both had their first soccer games of the season that day too and I have no pictures of either game because I forgot my camera!! I very seldom go anywhere without my camera. I was very disappointed in myself! I will get pictures at the next game!!

My First Grader

Can't believe it's time to start another school year. We enjoyed our summer but it went by so fast! We had a great kindergarten year last year and we are looking forward to his first grade year being just as good. His main concern this morning had nothing to do with his teacher, knowing the kids in his class, what kinds of things he would do in first grade, etc. Nope, all he was concerned about was which days he would get to go to p.e!!! Oh me!! I do hope he enjoys his first grade year inside AND outside of the gym!! I'll be anxious to hear all about his first day of first grade when he gets home. I do know that Thursdays are one of his p.e. days so I'm sure he was happy when he got to school and found that bit of information out!

Mr. Independent

For the past week or so Cooper has been all about dressing himself without ANY help! I've been very proud of him working so hard to get his clothes and shoes on. Tonight as I was getting ready for bible class He was in the den getting ready too...all by himself. I had no idea he was putting his clothes on until he came walking into our room fully dressed. Of course I smiled and told him how proud I was of him! He looked so cute!!

Could you have looked at this sweet boy all dressed up without smiling...I think not!!

I was truly impressed that he managed to get everything on completely backwards! Hilarious!
