Campfire fun

Friday night we met some of the "young professionals" class out at the Chickasaw campgrounds. We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows for smores and had a great time visiting. Our friends Jason and Ashley like to go camping and were actually staying overnight at the campgrounds. Cade now says he really wants to go camping and sleep in a tent! Wonder how Jason and Ashely would feel about an overnight guest sometime..ha! I'm pretty sure Chad's not going to be sleeping in a tent anytime in the near future and I haven't been tent camping since elementary school. We don't have the first thing needed to go camping! Don't think we'll be the ones taking him!

Fall Festival

Thursday night Adamsville had their Fall Festival. The kids had fun playing games, eating, jumping on the bouncers, and creaming their daddy with whipped cream! I think creaming Chad was their favorite part of the night! Adamsville made a lot of money during Chad's 30 minute time in the pie booth. What does that say about him?!?! The kids love him!

Cade chose to cream Coach Logan instead of Chad. Logan was Chad's student teacher for several weeks. He's a good guy and such a good sport. His student teaching at Adamsville actually ended 2 days before the Fall Festival and he still chose to come get creamed!

First Grade Field Trip

Friday Cade's class took a trip to Donnell Century Farms in Jackson. We could not have asked for a prettier day to be outside on the farm. I was happy to be able to go on this trip with him. Chance and Cooper got to spend the day with Papa and Clara Ruth. They had a great time as well.

My Fall Scene

I've wanted a fall scene in my yard every fall since Chad and I've been married (we just celebrated 11 years in August). I've never gotten one for one reason or another! Well this year I finally got my fall scene! It's not very big but I really like it! My neighbor painted my pumpkin with the T which I really like too! Fall Break Fun

This week (well 3 days of it for us) is Fall Break for Cade and many of his friends. Today we met some of them at the park and had a great time being together. The kids (all 19 I think) of them had the best time playing together. I enjoyed getting to be with my friends too!!! It was a beautiful day to be at the park!

Sleepy Boys!

After being outside all day on Monday watching the cotton pickers at work these boys were exhausted. I let them skip naps because the cotton pickers were right by the back yard during that time. I didn't want them to miss the up close action! We had to pick Cassidy up from school so it was just easier to let them stay awake. They didn't make it long in the van before falling asleep. They looked so sweet laying on one another. Just couldn't help snapping a picture!

One of the things I have loved about being "in the country" these past few months is this view every night. It's absolutely beautiful and even more so when you can still see the sun big and orange in the sky while going down. I love watching it set over the cotton fields.



On Monday morning the cotton picking machines rolled in and started to work picking the field of cotton behind the house. They worked all day....until after dark! The kids and I enjoyed watching the work but hate that the field is no longer covered in white fluffy cotton.




We did however take advantage of having the beautiful cotton in our back yard and took several pictures before they came and picked it. Here are the few I turned to black and white.
