My boys love anytime they get to go to Papa and Clara Ruth's house! What young boy wouldn't like to spend the day playing in the creek, riding 4-wheelers, painting slate rocks to take home, and eating special foods prepared just for them! I can't think of many who wouldn't like that!! I'm glad we live close enough for them to do this every so often. Now that summer is here we"ll be able to go visit more.

Road Trip to Belmont Mansion
Recently a group of girls and I took a road trip to Nashville to the Belmont mansion to meet author Tamera Alexander. We are reading Tamera's book "A Lasting Impression" for our next book club meeting. It was so neat meeting her and seeing a lot of the things she talks about in her book. I have finally finished reading (my signed copy) the book and I loved it!! I was so glad we made the trip because as I read the book and things would be talked about I could actually picture those things because I had seen them. "A Lasting Impression" was the first of her books that I'd ever read. I definitely plan on getting some more of hers very soon.

Spring has Sprung and we are loving it!!
Spring is here and with it came some very warm temps!! We are spending lots of time outside enjoying the beautiful weather!
Cooper found this four leaf clover at one of FHU baseball games. He actually found 3 that day!!

Watching a little Lion baseball

We've been to the park numerous times over the past few weeks!!

We got out one day and flew kites. It's been just about too windy to fly though. We all had a good time trying and did manage to get the kite to stay up for quite a while.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by reading Dr. Seuss books, making Dr. Seuss hats, and eating Dr. Seuss treats! What a fun way to celebrate some of our favorite books! Sent Cat in the Hat treats to school for the boys and their classes to enjoy!

We celebrated Dr. Seuss at story time with a cake!! That was fun. The kids sang happy birthday, blew out the candles, and ate cake at 10:30 in the morning!! They loved it! We try to make it to the library every Tuesday for story time with Mrs. Nancy. The kids have been enjoying it for years.

Cade's Birthday
Cade's birthday has come and gone. I'm about a month behind on blogging. We had his and Chance's party between their two birthdays with all of their friends but wanted to make sure we acknowledged his actual day too. I made cake balls for the first time ever and they were pretty good. I can't believe my oldest child has turned 8. What a blessing he is!

Cade's Landform Project
Cade has his first big project due this week. They are studying landforms in second grade and he had to make a landform project showing at least 9 different landforms! Mrs. Jessica told them that she expected them to do most of the work. I gathered supplies for Cade and put him to work! Chance wanted to help and Cade let him help a little. Cade worked hard pressing play dough to form land and water. I helped some with the shaping of things and the coloring of the flour mixture but he really did most of the work. I was proud of how involved he was with it and how it turned out!

I've been walking around with blue, green, and black fingers for a few days now due to coloring the flour mixture for the water, some grass, and the mountain! Told Cade I loved him very much and he better not forget that!! His little fingers look perfectly normal! He's very proud of his project!

Valentines Day goodies
The boys worked hard on getting Valentine Day goodies ready to go to school. They love helping! They went through 2 1/2 containers of sprinkles and I think by the time they finished we had half a container worth all over the floor. If you can see the mess on the counter in front of them....that's about what the floor looked like too minus the chocolate! That's okay! The pretzels turned out great and I wasn't going to be using those Valentine sprinkles for anything else!

I also made these mini cupcakes for the boys to take and share with their classmates. Very simple and cute!
