We have a Wendy's!

Chester County is moving on up in the world....we now have a Wendy's! We are super excited because we all love Wendy's. Yesterday was the grand opening and it was busy busy busy all day long! We knew it would be but it didn't keep us from stopping in for a frosty. They had a ton of people working opening day so the wait wasn't long. Chad and Cooper went earlier in the day and met Wendy herself....lol! We are all happy to have another option when we want fast food!

Chess players

The boys have discovered the game of chess. They will spend a long time staring at that board deciding their next move! I’ve been beat by them pretty quickly each time I attempt to play them. That’s one game I’ve never learned to play. I’m glad they like it.

Let's Run!

Over the past few months I've started running more. I used to run a lot years ago and then surgery, life, work, busyness with kids, etc got in the way and I just stopped doing it so much. I'd go here and there....just enough to feel good about myself! My friend Caileigh and I have started training for a 10K! It's been YEARS since I've run one but we are signed up to run one. I'm excited and nervous. I know 6.2 miles isn't anything compared to these Marathoners but for us it's a big deal. Most early mornings and some nights you can find us at the park getting in some miles. We aren't super fast or anything but I'm not concerned about speed at the moment. I'm just trying to gain distance. When life gets tough and you need some stress relief running (and walking) is great therapy.  I'm here to tell you it helps mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually! I've needed this in my life big time lately! When you have friends to share in it with you it's even better!

Happy Father's Day

I hope the boys always realize what a great dad they have. He spends so much time with them doing all sorts of things. They play ball, board games, watch ball games, read together, and just hang out. Even when he's exhausted from a long day he still makes and takes the time to hang out with them. He is great to talk to them about important things in life and teaches them daily by his actions how a Christian husband and father should be. I know I haven't always appreciated him enough and I hope they realize how blessed they are to have a dad like him. If they grow up to be anything like he is then they will all be fantastic fathers one day!

Mini Getaway

Chad and I tried our first ever Flat White from Starbucks. We had a couple days without the boys to hang out and shop around Franklin, TN. We enjoyed lazing by the pool, watching TV, shopping and drinking Starbucks. We were living BIG for a couple days. Ha! Glad to get back home to our boys though. They had a great time hanging out with the Chason and Elizabeth Anderson and Rah Rah while we were gone.

ICYC-AP Camp

We had another great year at camp. The weather could not have been better. It was an uplifting week filled with singing, devotionals, sports, swimming, fellowshipping, amazing food, and some running for me! It was great to get away from home for a week and spend time with camp friends and family and focus on growing spiritually. It was an exhausting week but it was wonderful. AP week of camp is special in so many ways. We are thankful to be a part of it each year. Glad Tucker could join us again this year.

One of the boys most favorite part of camp is the sports. They just can'r get enough ball playing! Cade won the 3 point contest for the senior group this year. Cooper won the free throw contest for the Juniors. Cade's basketball team beat the counselors this year! That's only happened one other time in 8 years of camp! He actually shot a 3 pointer in my face!! In his own mother's face and he did not feel one bit bad about it.....ha! It was fun getting to play against him and I actually scored! All 3 boys plays tons of sports. Chance and Cooper spent lots of time in the GaGa pit and on the basketball court. They could also enjoyed soccer, cone wars, football, and the favorite of the week CONE BALL!! Cone Ball is a favorite for everyone at AP camp.

I sure enjoyed getting to spend time with these ladies at camp. Christy, Mallory, Bethany, and Sheri are all great ladies! Lots of fun being around!

8th grade trip to St. Louis

Cade and around 100 of his fellow 8th graders enjoyed their 8th grade trip to St. Louis a few weeks ago. They enjoyed the City Museum, Six Flags, the Zoo, and a Cardinals game. They had a wonderful trip and were well taken care of by several of the Jr. High faculty and staff. We are blessed with some great leaders who love our kids. After 3 days away from home this bunch arrived back at midnight Saturday completely exhausted and full of memories! We are thankful Cade was able to take part in this fun filled trip.
