The boys spent Christmas Eve sleeping late and waking up to a brunch of pancakes, sausage and omelets. Cooper and I made coffee filter snowflakes for the tree. We baked and decorated cookies. After the cookie decorating contest we opened presents. They got some new games, socks, shorts, playing cards with their favorite teams on them, and plenty of goodies in their stockings.

Christmas Cookie Contest
The boys wanted to have a cookie decorating contest. We’ve been watching lots of fun baking shows lately and they decided they wanted to bake something. We settled on sugar cookies. They had to roll the dough, use cookie cutters, make royal icing, separate into bowls, add different colors, and decorate! I tried to let them do as much of it on their own as possible! They impressed me. I offered some verbal suggestions and helped them spoon icing into bags for piping. Otherwise they did it all! They exceeded my expectations. I was very impressed. We had Papa and CR vote for a winner. They chose cookie number 5 as the winner. Second place went to cookie 3, and third was cookie 8. Cooper had the winning cookie this year. Way to go guys! Way to impress your mom with your decorating skills!
Christmas with Papa and CR
We celebrated Christmas with Papa and CR yesterday. We had a great lunch and some really good White Christmas pie! It was so good! We did some Christmas trivia and enjoyed visiting for a while. Boys got some new pullovers/hoodies.....seen in picture! Thank you Papa and CR!

Homecoming/8th grade night
The Jr. high homecoming was tonight. We were supposed to play Selmer but they cancelled on us. Instead of calling the whole night off they decided to go forward with the homecoming events and play some blue/white games with each team. It turned out to be a very fun way to end the regular season. I think they played more aggressively playing against their own team mates. The band played, cheerleaders cheered, lots of ball was played and the 8th graders were recognized. Can’t believe Chance is in his last year of jr. high. He sure has made the most of his time there. On another note he got his braces off today also!! Big day for him!!

Go Eagles!
Lots of basketball has filled our days these past few weeks.
The junior high team won Best of the West tournament last week! That was really exciting. Cade has played in several games. Coop has a couple games coming up soon. These pictures are all out of order. Love seeing pictures of my boys.
Thanksgiving
We went to Kentucky the weekend before Thanksgiving to see my family there. It was a quick trip but we enjoyed our time. We got to watch their Christmas parade and that was fun. Always good to see my family there. The Saturday after Thanksgiving we celebrated with the family here in Henderson. We gathered in the dorm at Freed. It’s the easiest place to fit us all in. We ate so much great food! Thankful for family!
Beta Trip
Chance and the rest of the 8th grade Beta kids spent a couple days exploring the Opryland Hotel and enjoying time away from school. He had a great time and I’m thankful the school allowed them to go on this reward trip for working hard in school.
