3rd grade patriotic program

Famous Americans

Cade was part of the 3rd grade Patriotic Program this week at school. There were about 30 kids who were dressed as famous Americans. They all did such a wonderful job telling about their person!! The principal helped the kids with their lines. She's a great principal!!  I was proud of them all but was especially proud of my 3rd grader who dressed as Peyton Manning and did a wonderful job telling about him.

Cade's speech

Peyton Manning is a great quarterback. He plays for the Denver Broncos. Peyton threw 49 touchdown  passes in 2004. No one else has ever thrown that many in one year! Peyton's dad was a pro quarterback too. He taught Peyton to throw a football. Peyton's brother Eli is also a quarterback. He plays for the New York Giants. Peyton was a quarterback for the Tennessee Volunteers in college. He made the most passes ever at his college. Peyton won a national football award in his last year of college. His jersey is hanging at the college. In 1998, Peyton Manning was the first player picked by a pro football team. Peyton was MVP in the 2005 Pro Bowl game. That means he was the best player in the game. Peyton helps many children and others in his community. He received an award for his good work.

Looking good Peyton!!

Happy Valentine's Day

This year instead of candy the boys all woke to find their very own bag of chips for Valentine's Day. They definitely take after me in their love of chips!! I asked them what they thought of their Valentine goody and they all said, "AWESOME!!!" They all got a different kind....their favorite kind.

Cooper and I worked on his Valentine's Day box for preschool. They had a contest for the best box. Cooper's boat won second place!! He won a HUGE hershey's kiss which he ate on for days and days!

The boys had their Valentine parties at school. They ate lots of goodies!!

Chance and his friend Chad enjoying the party

Cade's class did something a little different for their party. We have been praying for a little girl named Gabby Cook who has cancer. We know her parents. They went to Freed Hardeman. Gabby LOVES pancakes so Cade's 3rd grade class decided they would eat pancakes in honor of Gabby. We cooked pancakes right there in class so they'd be nice and warm! The all made signs for Gabby. It was such a sweet idea and Gabby and her parents loved the pictures!! I know this class will always remember this party! Mrs. Rosemary does a great job encouraging her class to do good for others.

Cooper getting read to by Riley! The kids are always so sweet to Cooper!

Heart pancakes for Gabby

Happy Birthday Chance

I'm already behind in blogging!! It's almost March and here I am posting for the first time this year. On January 1st my new year baby turned 7!!! A visit to see Gramps and Grammy

We ended the year with a visit to Montgomery to see Gramps and Grammy. We left from Nashville and headed their way. Glad we were able to spend a couple days with them. Chad got the stomach virus the day we left Nashville and by the time we made it to Montgomery he was in pretty bad shape. Thankfully it didn't hit him hard till we got there. He spent the whole time we were there in bed. Poor guy! The rest of us enjoyed the visit! The boys can't visit Gramps' house without playing with the chickens and collecting eggs! We came home with a dozen fresh eggs!! Yum! The boys got to play with Joseph while we were there too. He's always so good to play with the boys!! We played lots of scrabble and skipbo with Grammy! She loves games!!

Opryland Hotel

We got to stay the night at the Opryland Hotel the day after Christmas after seeing ICE!! It was the first time I'd ever been to the hotel at Christmastime. It was beautiful!! The boys think staying in a hotel is the greatest thing ever!!! We did a little shopping at Opry Mills too! We all enjoyed the Christmas present very much!

ICE-- Shrek The Halls

One of our family Christmas presents was a trip to Nashville to see ICE!! We went the day after Christmas and stayed the night at the Opryland Hotel. We had a great time. ICE is incredible! I'm amazed at the talent some people have! They turned huge blocks of ice into incredible sculptures!
The ICE rooms stay at 9* below zero so it's extremely cold. We all bundled up and then received big thick parkas when we got there. We were able to stay in the room and enjoy everything for a little over an hour. That's all the time we needed to enjoy everything. We all got to slide on huge slides made of ice. That was a lot of fun!

All bundled up and ready to see ICE

Shrek the Halls! Everything you see is solid ice!!

Our favorite thing....the ice slides!!! Here comes Chance!

Cooper was a little unsure about the slides at first but once we convinced him to try it once he was hooked!! I'm not sure how many time he went down but it was a bunch!

Rah Rah enjoyed ICE with us!

She even took a turn on the slides!!

Chad coming down with his spiderman mask on!! Ha!! His face stayed warm!

Cade says..."that was awesome!"

Yes...I took a turn too!!

These are incredible!! I just couldn't get over how detailed everything was!

This dragon wrapped around the room! It was massive!!

We very much enjoyed out trip to see ICE!! It did take us a little while to thaw out after we left!!

Good morning sleepyheads!!! It's about time you got up!!!

The boys all got a foosball table together and several games. This was the year of games!!! They got a cone ball set. Real dodge balls and cones!!! Pretty cool! They got new bases for playing any outdoor games! They got several board games and xbox/wii games too.
