We had a great day celebrating Cooper’s birthday! He’s finally a teenager! We ate sushi and got Maggie Moo’s ice cream. He also got a couple new running shirts.

Back to School
We started back to school last week. It’s been exhausting but good to be back! This year we have a junior, freshman, and 7th grade! These guys are flying through school! They should still be in elementary school 😢.

A ‘real’ teacher
I’m going to ge teaching again full time after being out of the classroom for 17 years! I’ve been part time interventionist for the last 6 years. I decided it was time to get back to teaching. I’m excited and honored to be given the opportunity to teach 2nd grade at East Chester. My boys are excited that their mom is going to be a ‘real teacher’! Apparently what I’ve been doing for the past 6 years wasn’t real teaching 🤦♀️! They are happy for me. I’ve been overwhelmed by everything that goes into teaching full time but I’m ready for the challenge. This year will definitely be different in the midst of this pandemic but I’m looking forward to a great year. My theme is the circus! Tuesday night we had our ‘meet the teacher’ night. It went great. We had to schedule one on one visits due to the virus. I met most of my kids and am excited to start the year.
Water slide
Boys were able to have their back to school waterslide bash. Due to the virus and some people still not getting in crowds and some being gone on vacation our numbers were down but we had several come and they had a blast!! We got the slide and extra day which was nice! The weather was perfect. A good time was had by all.

The best of friends!
Chad and Kyle have been the best of friends since college! Now our kids are great friends. Sadly we only got to see them at camps in the summer. About 8 or 9 years ago we started having them over for a weekend in the summer to just hang out before school starts back. They love this time!! It’s nonstop laughter and play. This trip included ping pong, upstairs arcade games, laser tag at the church building, and watching Napoleon Dynamite. My job is to make sure the food never runs out 😂! I managed to keep them stocked in snacks and food! That’s quite a job with 2 grown men and 6 teenagers but I loved it! I enjoyed watching and listening to them hang out. I hope they always continue to be great friends.

Safari Park
Yesterday we went to the TN Safari Park. It was such a fun trip. The animals were very active. We loved being able to feed them. A few of them were a little aggressive and tried to snatch the food bowls from out hands but held tight and didn’t lose a bowl. The boys laughed and had a great time feeding the animals. I got some pretty hilarious video footage. A buffalo tried to play tug of war with Cade’s bowl and we ended up with lots of food pellets in my car! A ostrich snatched my air freshener out of my car. A camel put his whole head inside our car to reach the good better. They were so much fun! It was a hot day but the animals didn’t seem to mind. They were living the guest and extra food!
