The Letter

The boys all love to get mail. I always let them open whatever they get...otherwise it wouldn't be quite as exciting for them. Today Cade received a letter that made him very happy. The letter told him that for the entire month of October he would be picking up attendance cards after the morning worship services each Sunday. He is SO excited about this. This will be his first experience doing something like this. I asked him if he wanted his daddy to help him the first time and he told me, " No, I can do it by myself!". We'll see how confident he is come Sunday. The boys are just as cute as they can be walking down the isles picking up cards. I love to see young kids like Cade (who is just 5) wanting to help. It's something easy they can do and feel important. It is an important job! If they don't pick them up someone else would have to do it and I'm pretty sure no one else would enjoy it as much as our young boys!

We Love Teachers Extravaganza!!

Last night all of those who have taught bible classes at anytime during the past 12 months were honored with a "We Love Teachers" Extravaganza. This was the second year to have one of these. This years theme was "super heros" It's a fun night for the teachers to thank them for teaching. The menu for the night included pizza, Olive Garden salad and breadsticks, and Cheese Cake. Yummy! We played several games and had lots of fun and laughs. We all received T-shirts this year which were very neat. Here is what they look like. I love the message on the back!

Happy Birthday to me!

Today I turned 31!!! It was a pretty normal day for the most part. I got up bright and early, sent Cade off to school, got my extra morning guy on the bus, cleaned a little before my extra kids for the day arrived, went to play group, came home, did lunch time, craft time, play time, and finally nap time! At this point I actually decided to park my self on the couch and do NOTHING..well I did watch a movie! It was great. I watched "Becoming Jane" . It was so good. It was the story of Jane Austin. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet for a couple of hours. Sarah and Chelsea called late this afternoon and said they were coming with supper!! That was a nice surprise! Chad brought me home an ice cream cake and we all enjoyed Pizza Hut pasta, bread sticks, and cake. Turned out to be a very good birthday. I got some nice gifts too including money, gift cards, snacks, Pride and Prejudice, and even a Wii game ( I think Chad used my birthday as an excuse to buy a game he wanted...that's okay...we'll all enjoy it! :)) We have movie night tonight so we'll have friends coming over very soon. What better way to spend the day than with family and friends.

I just recently watched Pride and Prejudice and fell in love with it. Chad did a very good job picking out this gift!

Opening day of Fall Baseball

Yesterday after Cade played a 9:00 soccer game we headed to Jackson for a double header to start off our fall baseball season. The boys played so well...much better than I expected. We have a team with 10 players, 5 of which have never played baseball. Every child hit the ball yesterday and did such a great job! It was so much fun. We lost the first game 14-9 (I was happy with our 9 runs) and won the second game 15-12. We played straight through lunch, it was hot, we were all hungry, but the boys never complained (at least not that I heard)! They were SUPER!
Cade hit the ball every time he got up to bat. He did hit one fly ball that the boy playing circle caught (it was a great catch) but other than that he got on base every time.

Our special guest

Sarah stopped by Saturday for a while before heading to a friends house. When she walked in she had a turtle with her...really not that surprising being that it's Sarah. She found it on the road on her way to our house. We all went outside to see if the turtle's head would come out..of course it didn't with us all surrounding it! As soon as we went inside the turtle came out and crawled away. The boys went out looking for it and found it under the wheel barrow. Someone had the bright idea to paint the turtle so if we ever saw it again we would know it was the same turtle Sarah brought. Each boy took his turn putting a stripe on the turtle's back. Not long after we left the turtle alone we looked outside and it was nowhere to be found. Smart turtle! Somewhere out there is a green and orange striped turtle (the rain might have washed it off last night though..it was washable paint :-)) Maybe one day we'll see him again!

Happy Birthday Rah Rah

Today was Rah Rah's birthday. We celebrated by grilling out hamburgers and hotdogs. Chad did a great job and everything tasted wonderful. The boys wanted me to make Rah Rah a cake. They actually wanted either a princess cake, mermaid cake, or a Barbie cake. They thought she would like one of those :-) since she was a girl!! I looked and looked for a cake online that I could make. I finally gave up and decided to go for a flower. They looked much easier. It didn't turn out quite like I had hoped for but it was a girly cake and the boys were satisfied! Happy Birthday Rah Rah. We love you!!

Cooper loves to sing

Cade and Chance are sleeping over at Rah Rah's house tonight. Cooper has not reached the point where he gets to sleepover with them yet...but it won't be long! He got to enjoy having the house to himself for a while tonight. While Chad and I cleaned house he sat at the table and played with play dough. He sat at the table for nearly an hour playing and singing. The child LOVES to sing. I know most kids at that age do but I really love listening to him. Tonight his song was "Happy Birthday". He sang it over and over and over again each time putting a different persons name in the song. He just had his birthday last week and Rah Rah's birthday is tomorrow so I guess that's why that song is on his mind. I looked over at one point to see him blowing candles (pencils) out. He used pencils and stuck them down in the play dough to make his cake. For someone who just turned 2 last week I thought that was pretty creative..I'm sure he saw one of the big boys do that!
