Hope Race
Today was the 3rd annual 'Race for Hope' race. The whole family participated this year. We loved Ms. Hope so much. We are honored to be able to participate in this run to help raise money to feed some of our children from low income families in Chester County. Mrs. Hope was such a caring person. We are thankful we can help keep this work going a little longer.
Cade, Tucker, and Carter all placed in their age group of 14 and under. Way to go boys!!
Cade won his first medal today. He was so excited!! He ran the race in 28:07. I was very proud of him. I finished 9th out of 47 runners. I was the 2nd overall female and 1st in my age group with a time of 26:32. I was very happy with that. Chad, Rah Rah and the other two boys walked it and had a great time! Chad and Rah Rah both won medals for their age groups. It was a great way to start a beautiful Saturday!!
More Snow Days!!
We have had quite a bit of winter weather these past few weeks. We got another good snow Wednesday night! The boys were out of school Thursday and Friday. The boys have actually used 9 of their 10 snow days now! I don't know what they'll do next week when we actually have to go a whole week. I'm not sure any of us will make it!! I am looking forward to some warmer temps this upcoming week!!
Meet our snowman! He doesn't have a name because the boys couldn't agree on one. I just called him Harold!! It seemed like a good name to me.
The boys built forts in the front yard and had a snowball battle! It was team "Walmart Sack" against team "Mom's Red Glove Because We Couldn't Find Anything Else To Use As A Flag"...Ha!! It was quite a battle!

Happy 11th Birthday Cade!!
Cade had a great birthday weekend. Can't believe he is 11!! Where has the time gone?! We are so proud of the young man he is becoming.
He wanted a snow day so bad for his birthday. We had already been out several days. We weren't sure we would get out on Thursday but the snow began to fall Wednesday evening and school was called off for the next day. We had one happy boy!! He got a snow day for his birthday!!
Rah Rah took the family out to Los Portales for Sunday lunch to celebrate Cade's birthday. We all enjoyed our lunch very much. Cade got a special birthday song sung to him and enjoyed a special dessert!! He was very kind to share his yummy treat with his brothers!

Patriotic Program at East Chester
East Chester had their Relay for Life baked potato meal last night along with their Patriotic Program. The meal was incredible as always and the program was very good too. The kids always do a great job with the help of their principal and assistant principal Mrs. Kim and Mrs. Spring. This year Chance was Paul Revere in the program. He looked so cute in his costume. He was not real happy about wearing it but he was a good sport and did a great job on his part.
"But in this new land restless whispers were stewing,
Far away from their rulers something epic was brewing.
In 1773 they decided to revolt,
They went into Boston and dumped tea off a boat"
"By the way, did you know that it took nearly 3 hours
for more than 100 colonist to dump tea into the Boston Harbor?
The chest held more than 90 thousand pounds of tea
which would cost nearly $1,000,000 today!

Winter Fun
We have all enjoyed an unexpected winter break this week. We got some ice and snow Sunday night and early Monday morning which has resulted in a whole week out of school. The temps have been extremely cold. Last night the low was 1!! We have enjoyed quite a bit of ice sledding. We are expecting a little bit more bad weather tomorrow and then things should clear up.
We got to do some sledding with Presley and Payton down at the Deffenbaugh's house one day. The Defenbaughs are the only ones with a decent hill in the neighborhood. Their house has been the place to be this week with all the ice!!
