Yes, it's me!

This afternoon my dad and his wife (Clara Ruth) walked into the boys birthday party and said they had something for me that they thought I would really like! "Really, I love surprises!", I said. I could not believe what they had found. They brought the self portrait I painted my senior year in high school...for an art show if I remember correctly. I wondered what had happened to that thing! They found it while cleaning out some closets. I know.....it really doesn't look much like me but it really is me!! I have to really convince my boys and even some other family members that my senior portrait is really me too. I guess I've changed some over the years...ha! I think the main difference is the way I wore my hair. I used to curl it some and of course I teased up the bangs a little...hey, it was the style! I guess hair can make all the difference!! Several people at the party saw it thanks to Sarah who displayed it in the center of one of the tables!! She really thinks she's funny!! Anyway they couldn't believe it was me or that I could paint! Well it is me but I can't paint!!! That was years ago and done with the guidance of my art teacher. There is no way I could do that today...really!! Well, maybe I could if I took an art class or something but I've definitely lost all painting abilities over the years! Wonder what else my dad and Clara Ruth will find while cleaning out closets...maybe my old saxophone! I've wondered where that thing's been since I graduated too. I actually think it got sold or something! Would be fun to try and play again though....but being that I can't remember a single note...probably wouldn't be very fun to listen too! :-)

Used this picture as a guide. I'm sure you figured that out but thought you'd like a close up of it!

Happy Birthday Boys!

Today we had a combined party for Cade and Chance. Chance's birthday was back on January 1st and Cade's was yesterday. My plan was to have their party at the end of January...right in the middle of their actual birthdays... but that was spoiled due to a winter storm that hit that same weekend. It was rescheduled for today! They had a great party with lots of family and friends. We had the Incredible Hulk theme which was fun. They have been looking at and playing with their new presents for the past 3 hours..they love everything!

What a great bunch of kids! These are some of my boys closet friends. I worried when Cade started school this year because he wouldn't be getting to go with any of these guys. These kids have been the ones he's gone to bible class with, played ball with, gone to parties with , etc for the past several years. They have always been the best friends he's had. He's made some good friends this year in school but when asked who he wanted to invite to his birthday party, these were who he chose....none of which go to school with him!! This is the greatest bunch of kids.... with great parents I might add. They're the kind of kids you want your kids to hang around! Glad my kids have them as friends. I will add that Cade did take some special goodies to school on Friday to celebrate with his friends there. That was good enough for him! Chance was just thrilled to finally have his first friend party!

A Great Start to the Week

The wedding weekend was just beautiful. The beautiful weather continued through Sunday afternoon. The boys were able to get outside after worship and bible class and play! We all enjoyed the great weather. Unfortunately it didn't last long. The rain started later in the afternoon and it's turned cold again! We are very thankful for the great start to our week even though the cold is here to stay for several more days!

The boys got lots of good playtime in!

We enjoyed having Cody and Lauren here for the weekend. Glad they were able to come see Bo and Chelsea get married. They will all be attending worship together in Georgia. I'm really happy they will be getting to spend time together with them!

Wedding Day!

Isn't She Lovely

What a lovely day it was. The weather was gorgeous. Everything seemed to run smoothy. Didn't get quite as many pictures as I wanted but there was just so much going on it was hard to get many pictures! Chelsea was just beautiful! I don't think I ever saw Bo without a smile on his face the entire day! What a great pair they make! They had 10 kids in the wedding. They were all just so sweet. We got 9 of the 10 down the isle..not too bad! One of the little girls..maybe 2 years old was just a little unsure when she saw all of the people. She made it about a third of the way and then bolted. She was a doll. The boys did a great job ringing their bells.

The boys with their buddy Paden (My niece Sarah's boyfriend) Such a neat guy!

Me and Sarah.

I love these next four pictures of Seth and my boys signing the registry cards at the front entrance. I had to explain to my boys that other people were going to be signing them too so they needed to leave room. They had started drawing smiley faces for Bo and Chelsea. I meant to go back and see what Seth (Chelsea's youngest brother) had written. He stood there a long time and from the looks of it was writing a novel! I know he's going to miss having Chelsea around..as will everyone else!

The Rehearsal

Last night was the wedding rehearsal. The kids had a fun time decorating jumbo cupcakes before the rehearsal started. My boys ate icing the whole time they decorated!! What a cute idea!! The boys had these fun red cups that lit up and sparkled..the girls had pink ones. They were a big hit with the kiddos. As you can see by the picture below Chance got just a little carried away with the sprinkles :-)!

The boys were all bell ringers for the wedding. They did a great job during the practice and were ready to put on their fancy suits and do it for the real wedding!

My niece is getting married..she's going to be stunning! The boys are in the wedding..we'll see how that goes. I should have lots and lots of pictures to share!

Valentine's party

Today Chance had his Valentine's party at preschool. I wasn't able to attend but I did run in long enough to snap a few pictures. He said he had a great time and ate lots of good treats...cup cakes, cookies, pretzels, and ice cream sundaes....can we say sugar overload!!! And he brought home lots of Valentines from his preschool friends!

Showing me his craft. It has two hearts on the end of strings with the words "guess how much I love you...this much" He's showing me how much he loves me. It's so much I couldn't even get it all in the picture..haha! Actually I took my zoom lens by accident!

His Valentine's box. He helped decorate it by cutting out some of the hearts and glueing them on along with adding some glitter. Looks like he got plenty of treats from his friends!!
