The boys have always loved being read to. When they were babies and toddlers they would sit for the longest time and listen to us read books to them. I would have to set a limit on the number we would read some nights because it was never enough! On road trips they'd listen for hours to books on tapes. We still do actually! They just love books. They lay in bed almost every night and read for a long time before going to sleep. I love that they love books as much as they do. Still at the ages of 10, 12, and 14 they love being read to. Chad has been reading a book to them since summer break started. They finished it last night. It was called "Blood on the River" and was recommended by a teacher friend. Some nights they would beg him to read "just one more chapter." Made no difference to them that is was 11:00 and he was tired!! I love that he's willing to spend his time reading to the boys even when he's tired. To be honest he gets sucked into the books too and wants to read "just one more chapter" right along with the boys.
